Cannot delete app's alarm even after uninstalling app

I set an alarm in Tunein Radio at 5:29 after I had installed Tunein Radio free version so that the radio would come on at that time. I later installed the paid version and uninstalled the free version. Now at 5:29 Google Play opens and prompts me to install the free version. How can I eradicate the alarm? I have tried reinstalling and have emptied the cache but it persists.

Even with both free and paid versions uninstalled, at 5:29 an alarm activates and Google Play opens telling me to install the free version.

Thanks for any advice.

It sounds like a bug (or sloppy coding) to me; I would have expected the paid version to "adopt" any settings used by the free version to avoid exactly this sort of bad behaviour.

hmm... looks weird to me try going to the application manager>slide to the all application and check if the "Tunein Radio" is still present over there ??? If its there and you are again trying to uninstall it but it again came appearing then first head over to the seetings>security>device administrators>uncheck all except the Android device manager and then again try uninstalling the application by going to the application manager> slide to all applications ... See if that works out for you ??
No joy. Tried your suggestions but, sure enough, at 5:29 Google Play came on prompting me to install the free version of Tunein Radio. Thanks anyway.

When you reinstalled the free version what happened when the alarm triggered?

It sounds too obvious (so I'm sure you must have tried it) but if it ran then why couldn't you disable the alarm before uninstalling it again?

PS: I had various issues with Tunein and stopped using it a while ago - fortunately without any outstanding alarms! I'll be interested in the solution to your problem, it's the sort of thing that can become quite irritating quite quickly.

When I reinstalled the free version, then at the time the original alarm had been set (5:29) then, sure enough, TuneIn free version would open. I had (many times) tried to disable the alarm by unticking the "Enable Alarm" option and saving, but that didn't eradicate it.

The support people at TuneIn have been responding but not with any suggestions that have worked.

I gave up in the end and have done a factory reset which is a pain, but the alarm is now gone!

A bit drastic but at least you got rid of it. I used Tunein for years but for me it lost the plot several versions ago and like you I got no useful answers from the developers.

Fortunately I'm in the UK and wanted only BBC radio so I switched to using the dedicated BBC radio app. It's not perfect but it's free and it works - and no ads :-)

Actually I finally discovered the real reason (even after factory resetting) and I owe TuneIn Radio an apology. The culprit was a setting in a Sony pre-installed app called Smart Connect. Smart Connect enables various tasks to be scheduled if the phone is in its docking station. I had created the task (and forgotten that I had done that) so that even after uninstalling TuneIn Radio the task scheduler, which had nothing to do with TuneIn's own alarm, was running and when it couldn't find the now uninstalled app, Google Play was activated prompting me to install it. So no bug after all.

Most people never own up to "user error" faults, thanks for the useful follow up. No wonder Tunein support couldn't fix it :-)
