Help Cannot exit SAFE MODE

My HTC One SV had a problem a few months after I purchased it new. It refused to turn on...I ended up taking the battery out, replacing it and it then worked.

It wasn't until last week that the problem re-appeared. I followed the same routine, removed and replaced the battery. this time the red light was flashing for a while...I ended up getting it booting and read a guide to re-callibrate the battery, through a combo of the volume buttons and power button. I entered safe mode, and all has seemed fine, but I simply cannot now escape safe mode.
I have tried holding the volume buttons and power, then releasing them all and tapping power when SIMPLY BRILLIANT appears. no joy.

I have tried holding power and volume buttons when booting. No joy.

Everything remains in safe mode.

Please help!

you must power device off completely, remove the battery for 120 seconds and then replace battery and reboot normally.

have phone laying on level surface and do not disturb it until after it reboots past bootanimation and to lock screen, abd leave it untouched for somewhere around 7 minutes.

reply with worked! or failed!

oh and do it all on battery power, not plugged in to charger
