Cannot find bluetooth headset

Hi,

Happy new year to all of you :-)

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S and upgraded it to froyo.

I have a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset, which works perfect together with my old Sony Ericsson k660i mobile phone. However, my new Galaxy cannot see the headset.

I hold them close to each other and the headset is fully charged but the Galaxy doesn't discover it. There are only a single button on the headset to answer calls. I also tried to push this button during discovery.

The headset is some years old. Could it be a matter of old unsupported bluetooth versions on my Galaxy?

They should work. Did you put the phone on discovery mode?

I don't know exactly what you mean by discovery mode but Bluetooth is turned on in Settings -> Wireless and network -> Bluetooth settings. It is also here I scan for devices but the phone can't find my headset.

I've been testing a bit and concludes that it has something to do with my headset.

I'll have to buy a new one...

Well, this is a bit embarrassing, but I really can't figure out how to close this thread!? :-|
