Help Cannot Find Certain Apps

As the title suggests, I cannot seem to find a few apps on my Razr. Specifically, "my files" and Google+ as of right now. I do see them in "all apps" when in "manage apps", but that is all. That of course does not allow me to open/run them, which is really what I want to do. How can I get them on my home screen?

For the record,, I did do a search and came up empty handed. Any help would gladly be appreciated.

Open the apps by touching the center orb which then shows the apps and widgets that are installed. Find the one you want (like 'My Files')
Hold the icon few a few seconds then drag it to whatever home screen you want it.

I wish it were that easy. The point is, those apps are not there. It's like I may have removed them from my homescreen and now are lost.
The only way i have found to open google+ is to look it up in the play store and open it from there.

Not sure if I understand. The icon is there but the app isn't?? Could it be that you can't bring it to the main screens because you don't have an open slot?

If I understand correctly, I think you're saying the only place you can find Google + or My Apps is to go into the Manage Apps, All list, but if you open your app drawer, those two apps aren't listed so there's no way for you to pull them onto a home screen? If that's the case, which launcher are you using? Some launchers you may have to re-set the sort order within your app drawer after an app is updated. If that's the case though, you still should see the icons for those 2 apps at the end of your app drawer list. Also, some launchers give you the ability to disable or hide apps. Maybe you accidentally hid or disabled them?

If those don't work, you might try power cycling your phone and/or doing a cache partition wipe. Other than that, I can't really think of anything.

I have had that happen to me after I install a program from the playstore or amazon and it is not in the app all list. I have to turn off my phone then turn on again and they it shows up.

Correct. The only way I can see the apps in question is to open manage apps. I don't know which launcher I have. I haven't knowingly changed it so I believe it to be stock. Is there a way to tell?

The apps in question are not disabled. I have cycled the phone off and on several times.

I'm not sure what or how to do a cache partition wipe. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

Perhaps a full factory reset is in order, I hesitate to do that because I'm worried I may not get my apps and or contacts back

Turn the phone off....hold down the power and both volume buttons at the same time for a few seconds, a menu will appear....use the bottom volume button to scroll down to "recovery"....use the up volume button to select recovery....there will be a pause....when the android appears on the screen...push both volume buttons at the same time, another menu will appear...use the down volume button to scroll down to "clear cache partition"...use the power button to select it...it will format the cache...when its done....push the power button to restart the phone....and you're done.

Same process as described by djclemon for cache partion wipe from VZW website.

Factory Data Reset is usually last resort, but if the phone is fairly new, it's something you might want to consider if the cache wipe doesn't resolve the problem.

If you bought the phone new and haven't loaded any alternative launchers (Nova, Apex, Atom, etc) then you're probably using the Moto stock homescreen launcher.
