Help Cannot find headphones that will work

Has anyone found any headphones that will work well with the Atrix. I even bought the OEM headphones and they don't work either. The best headphones for sound so far have been the apple headphones, but of course in-line buttons don't work, nor does the in-call microphone.

The OEM headphones don't work at all. Has anyone found any headphones that will work?

Is anyone else having any issues with using headphones on the atrix??? I am trying to determine if this is an issue with my device or if everyone has the same problem.

Thanks for any replies!!

I tried 4 different sets of headphones and could not get them to work. I then reset my phone and now they work.

headphones or headset? There is a difference. Any headphones should work just fine. If you're referring to headset and working call/volume buttons, then you need to know that the ATRIX uses a very specific format for headset. OMTP, where the plug configuration is different. A bluetooth headset should work fine.

Actaully, Atrix is not compatable with the OMTP type headset/mics. It works with a standard type which is most common. Motorola is in the porcess of updating it's web site to correct this mis-information.

Well now, that makes sense. I had read over on xda that it was using the omtp type as well as on the moto page. I thought this was REALLY dumb on moto's part (I'd never even HEARD of omtp until reading that post.) I don't own any such headset, so really couldn't check. I've only used standard headphones and a stereo bluetooth headset.

my Sony Erickson bluetooth head set will not pair nor will my parrot in my car. What blue tooth stuff. is compatible. with the Atrix

weird. my motorola s305 works fine. make sure bluetooth on phone is enabled first, then try pairing with bluetooth item.

I have had no. luck getting the Atrix to even recognize the Erickson unit. The parrot in my car recognizes and said pairing successful but the phone just continually just trys to pair. the phone sometimes says paired but not connected with no option to connect now. It only gives option to unpair.

Howdy,
Firstly, these headphones are delish for cost and perfomance:
Amazon.com: GTMax Black 2in1 Bluetooth Music Stereo Headset Handsfree for AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G MB860: Cell Phones & Accessories
Crap, they are 7 dollars cheaper than when I bought them! 2 in 1 headsets.

Secondly,
BlueInput is the driver I went for. I bought a too little bt keyboard and it wouldn't work. I investigated some of the drivers in the Market and found that this one JUST worked.

Thirdly,
Part of what I think I missed when I was testing this stuff is that you have to press and hold on the input area and change your input to the keyboard. If you don't do this, it could be working and user error is just getting in the way. :)

Lastly, I now have things working that I haven't. Hope the above helps you get there.
Robert

If this is true then why doesn't it work with the standard headset types? Seems that it is indeed OMTP.
