Help Cannot find SD card?

Just using a new phone and it was finding the SD card, but now it is saying it cannot.

When I turn it on, it does the checking of the SD card for errors etc.

However, for some reason, apps can see the card.

The card works fine on my laptop.

Tried another card, and that didn't work in the phone either!

Any advice? I'm on Anroid 8.0.

Thanks.

How are the cards formatted? If they can be read in the PC but the phone doesn't see them, they are either formatted incorrectly, or there's a problem with the phone's SD slot as @mikedt suggested.

Thanks. If I format the card in Windows, then put it in the phone, then format the card again on the phone, it seems to work.

Then, if I try to copy the files from the old card onto the new card, some of the files cause problems with the new card, and the phone stops being able to read or fully recognize the card.

I think there is a problem with one of the app folders on the phone, from my podcast app.

I can copy everything else over so far, except this one folder of files.

Are there any good tools for copying files from Windows 10 laptop to Android phones?

Doesn't seem to be a phone problem though!

A simple file copy should be possible using basic MTP over USB connections. If the files are not corrupt on the PC side, perhaps they are saved using an incompatible CODEC and it's confusing the initial file scan. It's hard to say exactly, but if you've got everything working without these files, you might want to consider either doing without them, recoding them to something you know works, or re-downloading them from wherever you got them from in the first place.

What exactly are these podcasts? single mp3 or m4a files?

I think it's a problem with 8.0. I have to do some serious who'd a thunk it stuff to get my LG G7 to recoginze files on my MicroSD card now and then.

No hard resets involved but it's complicated. Android 8.1 has got to be better...

Mp4 and Mp3 files.
