Root Cannot flash recovery d320n

Hoping someone can help me, been reading forum after forum to no avail! Managed to unlock bootloader fine, but tried to fastboot recovery and got a message along the lines of "no space on device" or something similar. Since then I've tried to dd recovery to recovery partition, zero out laf and dd it to laf, tried every different recovery I can find for this device thinking it may be a compatibility issue. Nothing works! Every time I try to boot recovery I get an error message and then a purple screen, something about a crash dump I think. I'm truly stuck! Can anyone help?? Many thanks in advance.

Just tried to zero recovery partition, wondered if i had recovery in both laf and recovery, but got no space left on device. Still buggered it seems!!

Ok, zeroed out laf and recovery, and restored both no issues. STILL ended up with that crash dump demigod screen when booting to recovery. Really don't know where to go next!!!

Without patched aboot (there's a thread by litrosnub for that), custom recovery will always boot to purple screen. Deal with that, and then try to reboot to recovery. Although it complained about space, you may have flashed it anyway. So, deal with aboot first.

I learnt the above one time I forgot to flash patched aboot and I was baffled why my recovery was booting to purple screen. Once I had proper aboot (for d320n), all went fine.

Thanks so much, makes sense. There were odd mentions of aboot in the recovery topics but nothing specific, this now makes perfect sense!
Just report back if it worked for you. Maybe you have some other problem.

thank you so much, I dd'd aboot.bin for d320n on terminal emulator, reboot recovery, and voila, it works!! just got to get to grips with philz recovery now, not used it before. Thanks again :-)

If you want to flash custom ROM's. Don't use PhilZ/CWM. Use TWRP. Since CWM/PhilZ have problems like buttons are messed up ect. When done flashing

Glad it worked. But please, once you asked question, don't post it again on other threads. Someone will eventually come to help. Cross-posting the same questions doesn't help, our threads are full with repeated questions as is :) just a friendly suggestion.

Apologies for that, was sheer frustration! This aboot issue isn't detailed in the bootloader threads, I can't believe I'm the 1st to have this issue! I always read and read until I understand exactly what is required but no mention of the aboot.bin needing to be flashed. Hopefully this will help others in the future. I've migrated from modaco , used to have a y300, so I understand the etiquette. Again, apologies all
