Root Cannot get new phone number

I rooted the phone everything fine, eventually I stopped using this phone. In the interim, I reinstalled some software and was using it at my pool for the wifi.

my GF phone died so I called metro to have her # transferred to this phone, while we were doing this, I was told to input ##926*[I think] the phone should then let me input data but will not. Its stuck there.

I just wish to revert back to original metro software so I can have her # transferred.

Any thing other than what I have read here I should know.

no, in order to program the new number you ahve to flash back to stock rom, just make a nandroid of where you are right now, flash stock rom, program number, and then restore the nandroid of ur current system

yes this happened to me at the metro store, i flashed right at the spot and all went fine.
