Cannot identify an icon at the top

An icon I don't recognize has begun showing up in the notification bar at the top of the screen. This forum won't let me post a screen shot initially, so I'll try to describe it. It's in the shape of an eye, with a pupil in the middle. There are three short lines pointing outwards along the top of the eye - one of them connects to the pupil. It blinks (briefly gets bright) about every 10 seconds.
I suspect an app is doing this, but I cannot track it down.

Any ideas?

tia,
Jason

Welcome to the forums, Jason. :)

Well, you left your phone a mystery to us, so I'll surmise it's one of the nice new ones with either SmartStay/Smart Rotation, etc and/or the detector for your eyes looking at the device (it'll shut the screen to sleep when you take your eyes away for a set length of time).

If not, it's a CBS ad. :D
