Help Cannot install a keyboard on Hydro Elite

katztech

Newbie
Very odd - I've been installing a ton of apps with no issues at all. However, I am attempting to install a couple of keyboard apps and they will not install.

All that shows up in the "input" settings of the phone is the Kyocera & Google keyboard. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

No one with any ideas on this "glitch"? For the life of me I cannot figure out why this phone will not permit me to install/use anything other than the stock android (Kyocera) or google keyboards.

Any suggestions?

Did you make sure you enabled the keyboard under settings. That is all I could think. I don't have this phone, but I wouldn't think they would block that...

Hi Atst44,

The odd thing is that any keyboard I try will not even install on the phone, so they don't even appear under the settings. The only ones that show up there is the google & Kyocera keyboard.

Makes no sense; I don't understand why they would lock a person from using a different keyboard.

I'm guessing you are talking about an onscreen keyboard? I'm using ai type paid version and it works you do have to go to settings to select it after installed. I really like this one.

Which keyboard? You didn't put a link in your post.

For the record, I still have not had any success with installing a different keyboard. I have been using the swype method of messaging and have gotten pretty good with that, although I would still like to install a big button keyboard and use it if possible.

if you go to google store and search on "ai type keyboard" you'll find it but I hope this url works

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ai type&c=apps&hl=en

I have the paid one at the moment have had it through several phones. They have a bunch of different color combos, layouts and emotes. I like it a lot better than stock although I have run into a couple of apps that don't like the keyboard and I have to switch back to the stock keyboard in those cases...but it's really not a common issue at all.
