Cannot install APK on Xperia XA2

Hello,

I cannot simply install the apk of my Android app on Sony Xperia XA2.

I gave permission for unkown apk sources
I disabled AVG Protection (who knows)
I gave "install" permission to Chrome also
I tried with: 1. Astro File Manager, 2. Chrome 3. "APK Installer" from apk.cafe
In all cases I can press "install" button wih result message "App not installed".

Why ???

Backround: I have created a small Android app. In debug mode (debug build) it deploy and runs fine on my Sony Xperia by using Android Studio + ADB. Now I created a release build (with own certificate made by Android Studio's menu) to see how it runs. But I cannot install it

Any hints are welcome. Crazy to spend hours on a 2 min action...

ps: I logged my efforts:

- Try this new APK on Som's phone:
- delete the debug version (to make sure that I see the release version)
- keep phone in "debug" mode
- copy the APK into "internal..." / "Download"
- install from the APK:
- Astro File Manager : can find apk
- Open with : "Package installer" selected
- starting isnstall says: "app not installed"
WHY ????
- "Apps & Notification" / AVG Protection / "Advanced" / "Install unknown apps" : "Allowed"
- starting isnstall says: "app not installed"
Still !! Why ???

- I could also try to install by Chrome, but I could not get a good URL...(file:///...)

Internal device memory: 13 GB free out of 32 GB
SD card: 6.2 GB free out of 8 GB
Memory does not seem to be the issue.

What I realized afterwards and strange was: my app was "halfway" there: it was listed among the apps with a short-cut message "Not installed for this us". I think the message ended as "..for this user".. Well, I am not aware of any users, as I recall I set myself as a user when I initialized the phone. BTW, I could delete my incompletely installed app (the release build), and then I could continue to deploy the debug-build via USB+ADB.
So, is there any other hint? (I just simply want to try how a release build runs - without GooglePlay)

Have you tried to forcely "push" the apk with ADB?
sudo adb install <.apk file> on Linux, without sudo for Windows.
