Cannot open Kies main screen

[Android Question]

Installed Kies v2.6 but when I double click the icon to open I 0nly get the Splash Screen.
This stays continuously and the main screen doesnt open.
If I plug in my Samsun Galaxy 10.1 tablet the splash screen appears - no main screen.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several tines with the same result.
Can soneone help please

1) Try Kies version 3.

2) What operating system are you installing it on?

I have tried v 3.0 but it says it is not compatible. V3 starts with Android 4.3 > and I have Android v4.2.2.
My OS is Windows 7 64bit
