Cannot Receive MMS from IPhone

I have the same problem, but I think it could be more of a carrier related issue than a phone issue. The in-laws all have AT&T and iPhones. We have Verizon and Android phones...we don't have a lot of success sending or receiving MMS to each other. The wife and I never have trouble sending/receiving each other's.
