Cannot receive SMS

Good day all,

I recently switched phones from iPhone 4 to an Android device. For some reason I cannot get SMS messages from some friends who have Apple devices. Has anyone experienced this type of situation? If so, how should I fix it?

Welcome to the site

From what I've read you need to make sure to disable iMessage on your iPhone so that your number is no longer registered for iMessaging. Then SMS should work.

Yup, exactly what my nephew did when I sent him a Android phone to replace his broken iPhone (and he couldn't be happier!).
