Cannot record calls with Lg Stylo 6 Android 10

Hi,

I have watched a million youtube videos on this and I am at my wits end.

I keep downloading different apps and at best I can just hear myself. Cube ACR doesn't work either.

It is pretty important for me to record calls in my one party state for reasons outside of this post.

I have read that rooting the phone will permit me to be able to record but so far I have not been able to root it.

Every tutorial I have seen assumes that you have done steps outside of the tutorial previously and does not articulate how to perform those steps. I have crap all over my phone and PC based upon those tutorials in a mad rush to get the phone rooted. I know that is risky, but I am likely going to be getting rid of the phone due to potential call quality issues that I mentioned in another post.

Lots of moving parts but would like some help here please.

first off, if you plan on rooting your phone, you need to slow down. try to understand the process first before attempting to root. if you have questions, you have us.

second i do not know much about call recording. i seem to remember that google took away the ability, but then brought it back......or something like that.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am just a clickity clicker. I am a techie and I have always just kind of been that way. I am up to my ears with techie work and projects. Combine that with a dose of ADHD and it doesn't happen too often but I can make a real mess.

I have previously read through the first link and my favorite app (Automatic Call Recorder) is mentioned there. It no longer works since I obtained a phone with Android 10.

The other 2 links seem to allude to earlier stylos. I appreciate them though. I might have missed something though as the threads were pretty long and uhmmm I am not that great at focusing.
 
Wish I could help. But I've never had this problem, as every Android phone I've bought has always been able to record calls as standard, including my current Huawei Mate 10 with Android 10.

Are you in a country where call recording is illegal or restricted?

I find it disturbing that Google finds nothing wrong with recording everything that we do with our devices, yet makes this 'simple' feature so elusive for users.

Whether or not it is legal to record in a given location is irrellevant, as there are many, many illegal things that can be done with such devices.

Regardless of that, generally, at leeast here in the US, the largest issue of 'illegal recording' of phone calls is not so much the act itself-- but whether or not said recording is admissable as evidence in a court of law.

There are other things that come into play when the call is carried wirelessly, as anyone ith the means to receive a wireless transmission can do so.
This really becamee an issue when cordless phones came into vogue, because suddenly a wiretap or a warrant was no longer needed for officials to sit nearby and listen in on conversations.

The same has occured with cellphones, but I cannot remember what the remedy was, or if there ever even was one.

All I know is that laws regarding such recordings vary greatly.
Sometimes noone needs to be notified that a recording is occuring, sometimes only one individual needs to know, sometimes both.
This varies state by state here, perhaps even county by county, or even smaller divisions.

Thanks, I am in the USA and recording laws vary State by State. It is legal to record in every State as far as I know so long as two parties provide consent or one party does in other States. In one party States, the law is often written as...so long as YOU know you are recording then it is legal.

The member who posted the tutorial was misinformed. The Kingroot app by itself cant root Android 10.

I ended up going with an LG K92 5G with Android 10. No issues recording at all. Very strange. Of note, I noticed that Cube would not appear in Play for my phone but would appear for every other phone. If I emailed myself the link through Play, then I would see "not compatible with this device" on the Stylo 6.

When you use the Google Play Store app, it scans your device and so it knows what apps are compatible with that device.

Therefore, apps that are not compatible will not even appear in a search with that device.

But, as I have seen before, sometimes Google just does not want an app on a particular device for some reason.

When I upgraded devices a while ago, I was hoping for better performance of a game that I play, because the device I had before barely had enough to run it and it crashed often.

Imagine my surprise when I decovered the very same thing that you did.

Luckily, I was pretty sick of Google already, and had access to other appstores.

I was easily able to find the app I wanted, and it installed and ran with no issues.

I am still running it on the same device that Google continues to say is 'incompatible'.

You may need to try different versions in order to find one that will work on your device, but try these links...

Thanks, I got another device but if this ever happens again I will try these pointers. I tried so many versions and apps to no avail. Enough was enough.

You must learn the 'arm' of your device, and the OS, to know what versions of apps are compatible.

This info is within the settings under 'About Phone'.

I'm having the same problem I also have a LG Stylo 6 and have tried so many apps and Boldbeast is the only one I can get to record anything and all I hear is myself. I live in Kentucky and recording calls is legal here as long as 1 person that is being recorded is aware and that 1 person for me is me.

Are you saying that cube ACR is not showing up in the Play store for your Stylo 6?
