Cannot set up gmail

[Android Question]

New to tablets. Connected to Wi-Fi. Go to set up email, type in address and psw, tap Done, and all I get is a blank lower half of the screen.

Go to settings -> applications -> all -> find the Gmail app in the list and clear cache and data for it and try again.

If that doesn't work, you may try doing a factory data reset on the device.

You're setting this up in Settings/Accounts, right?
