Help Cannot Update Samsung galaxy s4!

Hello! i am new to the forums and i have a samsung galaxy s4 and i have it for about 2 years now and from the very beggining i got it it was version 4.2.2 and now its still version 4.2.2 it dosent want to update!! every time i scan for an update it says the latest updates have already been installed and this is very annoying i looked everywhere for how can i update but the only good method i found requires ROOT (odin) and i dont really want to root it and lose my phone if anyone could come up with a solution for me i would be quite happy!!

Ok thanks alot but dont i need root to use odin? if not what country / carrier do i choose if i dont see my home country there?

Odin is the flash tool used on Samsung devices and works with phone in download mode. No root required.
There is a app at the Play Store called Sammobile Device Info. It will tell you your Product and CSC code. We can use it to select the correct firmware.

There is also Kies3. I can't remember if the i9505 is supported but worth a try. At least you will get all USB drivers with download.
Kies should select and flash the correct firmware for you based on model number and SN.

Yes i tried Kies but it still says no updates found for you device

Try the Sammobile Device Info app and post a screenshot of product and CSC code.

i dont really understand what you mean by current frimware version its 4.2.2 jellybean?

Sammobile app should also list current firmware version or go to settings- about phone and list build number and baseband
