Can't access mobile version of website

merejane

Lurker
The mobile version of at least one website (Talking Points Memo) will not load on my Nexus 7. I get the full desktop view instead. I use Chrome, but I have also tried Dophin and Firefox, and have the same problem.

The TPM website does load the mobile version on my Kindle Fire.

Any advice on how to view the mobile version of a website on Nexus 7, when it doesn't load that way automatically?

Fwiw, other websites do load the mobile version on my Nexus.

brosko, I think that might work well for some sites, but there does not seem to be a link for a mobile version on talkingpointsmemo.com. Thank you anyway for the reply and suggestion!

Lordvincent, I had not heard of the Boat browser. I just tried it, and unfortunately, it is still showing the desktop version of talkingpointsmemo.com on my Nexus 7, even with the user agent set to Mobile/Android (which was the default setting). So what I see is like the second screenshot in your post.

But I do like the browser otherwise, so I might stick with it. I am, however, still frustrated with how TPM is rendered! :-(

Glad you got it sorted. :) I've used boat browser forever. It has tabs, it has themes. The pro version even has a floating browser option.
