Can't answer the phone

[Android Question]

samsung gt-s5310g with orange

I am missing calls because I can't get the phone to answer when it is ringing. I have pressed and swiped everything but it does not want to answer. It is usually locked when this happens. Is there a setting somewhere?

Swiping the phone icon on the left (which you get on the lock screen when the phone rings) to the right (almost all the way to the right) should cause the phone to answer.
