Help Can't boot after attempting to enable MobileAP

rikishi

Lurker
I have an AT&T-branded Samsung Captivate model SGH-i897 that was running Firmware version 2.2, Kernel version 2.6.32.9, Build number FROYO.UCKB1. It was rooted with SuperOneClick and unlocked with Galaxy S Unlock, for operation in Bangkok with True carrier.

True permits MobileAP operation, but attempting same resulted in an error message from AT&T, so I tried to enable it by following the instructions at
bit.ly /cemcut
(please remove the space character in above line).

Odin3 appeared to run ok (green PASS! in leftmost box and green bar below it), but the reboot failed and it ended up in recovery mode. Selecting reboot again comes back to the recovery screen. Removing and reinserting the battery did not help. Odin3 Message box shows:
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin v.3 engine (ID:6)..

(There is one removed/added cycle for each boot attempt.)

I can also enter Download mode, but don't know how to proceed. We have another Captivate with MobileAP not yet enabled, but otherwise identical, which is running ok on True.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
