Help can't call anyone

hi guys,
this is my mother's Galaxy S.
she dropped it on floor yesterday but nothing bad happened.
but today she can't call anyone although she can receive call and send sms.

her phone is not rooted
build : gingerbread 2.3.3
baseband : dxjv9
kernel : 2.6.35.7 - i9000DXJV9-CL216763 root@SE-S604#2

pls i need help immediately.

I'm thinking that the drop may have dislodged something in the phone, and it is in need of repair. The fact that it worked for a while only tells us that the drop was not quite strong enough to immediately damage the device, but strong enough to perhaps cause something to come loose and then separate later with ordinary use.

There is also the possibility that the SIM card came out of its housing slightly. Shut off the phone then pull out the battery, then examine the area where the SIM card is held. Make sure it is seated properly; that may be all that is needed to fix it.

actually i pulled battery out for 1 min -> didn't work
then again i pulled battery out + sim card for 1min -> didn't work
i cleared several app data+cache (phone, dialer,csc etc. - well i need the phone to work badly) -> didn't work
then i asked for help.

although my mother could receive call and send sms but calling didn't work.
then i plugged it for charging and cleared the apn and tried to call .
then it worked.
so right now i have no idea why it happened but i think u r right, something might have came loose.

don't know what she will do next time if i'm not nearby.

Good that you got it going for now.

If it fails again, it may be best to have it looked at by a cell phone technician.
