Cant change default video app

Hi. I have an android tablet (zt z102) running 4.0.3. I cant change the default video player from "video player" to something else. It is not listed in the applications list in settings, and yes i have selected the "all" tab. I use File Browser to open my files as i am playing videos of a usb, And there is no option to change default program within it. I can not change the default player from within another player because they all require an sd card to be present. Is there any app that will let me see the video player settings and clear it from the default programs, Or uninstall it completely. I do not want to use video play as it does not have a subtitle option.

Thanks in advanced.

Mitchell.

I personally use "MX Player" and it for sure pops up on my Toshiba Thrive, search for it in the market. Could it be that it is not called "video Player", it may be called something else. if it is an app it has to exist in some form or another. uninstall all the video apps your currently have downloaded. Then install MX player or any one of your choice. Then, the option should pop up again to choose the default player. Let me know how it goes.

If that does not work, then you're doomed. For now. you seem to have a unique problem.

Some how uninstalling mx player removed the default off "video player". I went and bought mx player pro and now everything is gravy.

Thanks.
