Can't connect ps3 controller with USB OTG

Lamuse

Lurker
For starters, I'm using the 32gb version of the USCellular Galaxy S3. So I just got my USB OTG last night. According to the video I've seen, I should simply be able to plug it in, and use it with no hiccups. I plug mine in, and other then a small notification in the top stating "USB connector connected" I get nothing. The 4 controller slots on my controller continue blinking, and it never seems to connect. My phone isn't rooted, however the video specifically states that's not a requirement unless I want to play wireless. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just SOL for no apparent reason?

After you connect the controller you have to press the "Playstation" button in the middle of the controller.

I'd also recommend not being in range of the PS3 and letting it connect via Bluetooth at the same time :-)
