Help can't control vibration!! also, random crashes

so i have vibrations turned off for gmail and facebook, and yet they are both still vibrating!! is there an app that can control vibration?

also sometimes apps just close right in the middle of typing. might have something to do with my keyboard app? i use touchpal.

any help is appreciated.

I use Gmail on a Droid Maxx 4.4.4. Tere are no vibrations.

Go to Settings | Sound and make sure
Vibrate when ringing
Vibrate on touch
... are both off.

For the screen turning off ... my guess is that you are accidently covering the proximity sensor and it is turning the screen off. Experimentation with covering various sections of the screen can help zero in on this.

that didn't work, but i figured it out: just have to turn off sound in gmail. it seems that when vibration is on, it takes all sound notifications and turns them into vibrations.

i'm still having the other problem tho. no the screen isn't turning off, apps just close for no reason while i'm typing.

OK, well, if the keyboard continues to act up, maybe try another, like Swiftkey.

Gmail vibration controls are usually in the drawer on the left, scroll all the way down to settings, the notification settings have separate controls for sound and vibration. The drawer is accessed by touching the small three dot control on the top left, scroll down to settings, touch the Gmail account name and you'll see inbox notification settings.

swift key doesn't have the layout i want. and, i already figured out the vibration thing, my phone vibrates for sounds when its on vibrate even when vibrate is turned off in the app

what is Swift Key missing? There are a ton of customizations in it.
