Help can't delete bookmarks

[redshed2000]

Hi all,

I have recently got an S3 on contract with Vodaphone. Simple problem - I can't delete the internet bookmarks that were on the phone when it came. When i try to it says "bookmark cannot be deleted". Any bookmarks that I add myself can be deleted.

Anybody know why/how to delete these?

Thanks!

sounds like your service provider has preloaded some bookmarks which are marked as read only - hence no way of removing unless you root the handset.

Thats a b*gger!!

What's involved in "rooting" the handset? Are there any downsides apart from losing data etc?

Thanks!

there a whole section on rooting for the S3 above these threads, take a look it seems to be pretty easy these days, probably still need a gold card though.

Mine is rooted. Where do I go from here?
