Help Can't Delete or Edit a Phone Contact!! (and it's a Qik contact)

Android Expert
Hello...

Was running the app Contact Analyzer 2 to see if I had an duplicate contacts. I found one that I wanted to delete however I do NOT have the option to delete it.

I am familiar enough with the stock Contacts app that I DO KNOW how to delete contacts, whether they are Google contacts or Phone contacts. This one is NOT working. I do NOT have the option to EDIT and do NOT have the option to delete!! NOT KIDDING!!

I'll give the information about the contact because it is an actual company. It is USAA. I DO have the phone number in my contacts...800-531-8111...so the contact IS legit. However this particular contact with the above duplicate 800-number was added as a QIK APP CONTACT showing the Qik address com.qik.android.protocol and name "Sunnyside75"

I can only ASSume that this problem is because it was added when I recently tried QIK for the firs time. I have other friends' contacts that had QIK names added to their contact information but I can edit ALL OF THOSE EXCEPT the USAA QIK contact.

Now, I can link the USAA QIK contact to my existing link but my goal was to get RID of some things. I do NOT need and don't see myself QIKing with USAA.

Has anyone seen this before?? Any REASON why I can neither edit this nor delete this contact?? Is there a way to remove this and/or avoid in the future. I thought about trying to delete the other "legit" USAA contacts that I previously added and HOPE that the QIK contact disappears as well but haven't tried that yet.

THANKS!

I guess no help for us, I have the same problem. My wife had to use our daughter's phone and forward her number to it while waiting for her replacement phone. She somehow added two of her facebook contacts, which are also Qik contacts, to our daughter's phone and I can't delete them. I can't believe this platform makes it so difficult to delete a damn contact. I'm seriously considering going back to a Windows OS platform, it was easy to delete things on them. Why is Android so damn difficult!

With the Evo, in the contacts, you can hit "menu" and then "view" to change which contacts are displayed on your contacts list.

The only way I know of to GET RID of qik contacts is to completely uninstall qik, use a file manager (i.g. OI File Manager) to remove all of the files and folders associated with qik and then re-install. If you have a telephone number saved as a contact either on your phone or as a google contact, qik should be able to recognize it as another user/contact once the program has been installed and opened.

:D

You don't have to uninstall the whole program. Simply log out and the QIK contacts will disappear. When you log back in, they will NOT reappear, but other settings will be lost as well, so you'll want to go back into settings and uncheck "Allow anonymous callers" under privacy AGAIN.

Or go to Settings, go to accounts, & remove Qik account. That worked for me. Plus I completely removed Qik cuz I don't even use it.
