Help Can't disable or change default texting app.

My phone won't let me switch my default texting app to anything but hangouts. If I stable hangouts then I can't receive text messages. In settings it's shows that my default app has changed, but I only receive texts through Hangouts.

Sorry man had to create an account, it's a Galaxy Note 5 through sprint. This isy first Samsung so I'm not sure if this is common.

I have a Galaxy Note 5, I can't get text messages through anything but hangouts. If I disable hangouts the messages won't come through at all. So I can't get rid of hangouts as my text messaging won't work at all, nor can I use my default app.

Install Textra as an additional SMS app.

Then, when you start it up, it should ask you to make it the new Default SMS app.
Tell it yes, then you can get rid of Hangouts which I despise anyway.
