Help Can't download anything!

MasterC93

Lurker
First of all, I can't download anything off the net. I'm scanning the code shown in the screen, but i won't load and download. Loading process just stops. When i want to download other things, i click on the download link and it says "Cannot download. Content is not supported on this phone" I understand this but i need to download the APK manager, and i can't find any for my phone, for installing apps.

BTW, I haven't got the so called "Android Market" application on my phone, i just have something called "PlayNow". And there is nothing new there.

If you do not have android market, how do you expect to download apps from it?

What country are you in?
What firmware version do you have?
Why don't you have android market?

Android Market is not available in all locations and I have a sneaky suspicion that it is not available in Turkey. Have a look at this link

Supported locations for distributing applications - Android Market Help

You could try SlideME | Android Community and Application Marketplace or GetJar - Appsolutely Everything for Nokia, BlackBerry, Android, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, Palm., access them via your phones browser and download their app to your phone. They give a reasonable selection of apps for your phone, sadly not as good as the Android Market.

The other thing you could think about is rooting your phone and changing the firmware to a generic world version that has the market. Have a look in the All Things Root section for further advice. Boring part now, rooting is said to invalidate your warranty however the general comment on that is that you can re-flash the normal firmware by using Sony Ericsson Update Service, but just be aware!

Can you please explain to me what does root/rooting/branding/debranding means and necessity of it? And if it lets me to download apps and games off the net, then i will probably doing that. And if i have any problems with my X10, may i post it here?

(Here it is, it says "No Matches Found for: pname:com.mathpad.mobile.android.wt.unit
Search Tips *Check Spelling..." and so forth.)

You could debrand to a different country firmware, such as the UK generic firmware, that way, you can download from the android market :)
