Help Can't find bluetooth devices

My new S5 won't recognize any bluetooth devices. My 2009 F150 and my wife's 2013 Focus both have sync and they don't exist as far as my phone is concerned. My S2 had no problem connecting. I've tried everything. Has anyone else had this problem?
 
I have noticed that it matters which device goes into Scan Mode first. My older Galaxy S and my current S5 both were a bit finicky about connecting to, and pairing up with my headsets.

On my Blue Parrot headset, it worked best to put the phone into Scan Mode, then immediately press the Power On button and continue to hold that button down. On the Blue Parrot that forces it into Search Mode.

The S5 then showed it was connected and asked if I wanted to Pair the headset.

Is that any different than what you are trying to do with your vehicles?
I don't have a Ford here to test with... maybe I should drop in next time I'm in town and try it out.
 
I had issues recently on a trip with a rented Ford Escape with Sync. I would have to delete the S3 and keep adding it after driving and turning off the car and starting it up again, it was petty annoying. I am thinking its an issues with Sync and the Android system speaking to each other. Other than that I have had no issues at all with my BT devices and my S5. Good luck

My wife's crappy Pantec dumb phone connects automatically to both our vehicles, my latest and greatest can't even find devices.

I have same problem, but when S5 found my speakers it said "could not communicate with it"

Your first line says it can't find any bluetooth devices. So this isn't just a problem with SYNC? Sounds like a defective BT radio in the phone.
 
I've had bluetooth issues with the s5 since day one. First my bluetooth blue ant headset would not connect. I then bought a jabra Talk and it connected and worked for a couple of weeks. It shows to be paired but I'm unable to communicate
 
After several tries it finally worked, in the last try I started the music first and it connected.
Will see what happens next time.:D

I have my S5 paired with the BT Speakerphone built in to my car stereo. What I experience consistently is that while it shows "paired" in the BT settings on the phone it won't actually connect until I tap it. Occasionally it won't connect at all, but a quick reboot of the phone sorts that out.
 
I used to be able to print to my HP printer with my S2. My S5 doesn't find that either. I know it's the phone and I've tried every setting I could find in settings.
 
I can get them to pair as a phone but can't gey anything to work when I listen to music. Any help?

I figured out in my vehicle bluetooth settings how to pair a device and it worked fine. I don't recall having to do that the first time with my S3, but it has been a long time so maybe I did. It wouldn't pair unless i went into the settings to pair a device on the car first.
