can't find bookmarks missing blue ribbon

[Android Question]

I've just got a new samsung galaxy ace but am having problems finding bookmarks I've made. The online guide and other posts suggests that top right in the browser there should be a faded blue ribbon icon, but on my phone there's just the microphone icon for using voice activated searching.

Very annoying please help!
