Help Can't find downloaded app.

Lurker
I have only recently joined the world of tablets, but have some experience with PC's
The Galaxy tab 2 7.0 I have acquired is not new but is hardly used.

I was invited to join Google Hangouts by a friend in an e mail, so I cicked on the link which took me to the Hangouts page, and then clicked on Download. The download seemed to go well, and the the button changed to Installed. It still shows Installede wharever I do with it.

Problem is that Hangouts does not appear in the Apps list, nor on Downloads. I am unable to find it anywhere, and so can not load it or use it.

Model No. GT-P3110 Android version 4.2.2

Any help much appreciated.

If you goto the Play Store, does it show in there? If so, it usually have an Open button if it's installed. What happens if you click the Open button?

If it doesn't show in PS, install from there. If it does show and still not able to access it, Uninstall it from the PS and reinstall it.

And if the button says Installed, instead of Install, that's just to let you know that you've installed it. It's still the install button and it'll still install the app.

Thanks for your input Saptech and Rukbat. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I took your advice and went back to Play Store and although it said Hangouts was installed what I hadn't noticed was that there was also an Update button there. I tried that, and as soon as was downloaded and installed, Hangouts opened up. I haven't been able to check yet whether it appears on Apps, Downloads, both or neither - my wife has been speaking to her sister 300 miles away ever since!
Thanks again guys,
Neil
