Help cant find email contacts on moto g

when i try to find an email address there is no dropdown box to find correct address anyone help

Which app you using stock or gmail?

Have you tried going into the contact directly in your contact book and clicking upon the email which will take you through to gmail/ default app to create an email?

i have sync it with my other email account.everything else ok ,can receive and send.access all my folders etc.but no contacts.i had all this on my htc phone.

Thanks to replays received.got my dropdown box on email by typing in a second letter.one letter doesn't give u dropdownbox. If u type 3 letters u won't get it either
