Help Can't Find Files On SD Card

I have a Moto G EXT 2nd. I am new to the phone and new to this forum

I opened the SD card and created a music and an audio book folder and uploaded to both. When I open "storage" on the phone, i can see that the capacity of the card has been reduced, but the reason for the reduction is not indicated. i can't find the folders or what is in them.

I hope someobody can help me with this

Thanks, that make sense. My previous phone had a file manager app preinstalled so I never had a problem.

I tried both of the ones you recommended. Astro file manager worked better for me than ES so I kept Astro and uninstalled the other. Astro is working like the file manager on my previous phone.
