Help CANT FIND HELP ANYWHERE

Today i got the Galaxy Ace S5830 to play with as a toy, i rooted it perfectly fine, then i went to install a custom rom, it said install aborted so i tried to install the back up of my old rom, and now it just wont connect to laptop or boot or let me use download menu, im literally stuck in recovrey mode, any ideas?

Right it only goes in recovery mode, download mode has black screen with yellow writing saying downloading... then stays there no matter what, i can get my phone to connect now and ive been told my CWM needs to update, how do i do this using only recovery mode?

That's the way download mode works. Updating CWM won't get you reconnected if your phone isn't connecting to you PC. We'll have to get that figured out first. With your phone in download mode plug it into your PC and then open device manager and look for either an android device listing or an unknown device with a yellow triangle. Let us know what you find.

Right i can get into my phone using the pc, it lets me open up and check all my files so i can transfer others to it or deleting some if i need to?

Do you have a nandroid backup stored on your PC? If so and you wish to restore using that, you'll meed to move those files over to your phone.

Since you can't seem to get into CWM recovery, you'll need to reflash that suing Odin. I've found a few tutorials but they all seem to follow the same method as this one. Once you've reflashed CWM just reboot your phone into recovery (no need to try and boot fully into Android) and restore using the nandroid files you copied to your phone. Remember to copy the files first because reflashing CWM might remove the ability for your phone to connect as storage.

I'd also recommend backing up as much as possible from the phone while you can connect to it before you do anything.
