Root Can't find photos on sd card after data wipe

I did a full backup using TB Pro. Did App-by-app restore instead of a global restore. Did not restore system data.

Gallery now has none of my old pictures & I can't see them on the SD card even when viewing as mount. The usual folder location is empty. TB made a folder on the SD card with tons of files (synced with Dropbox), but I can't tell what the various files pertain to.

Any ideas? Rooted with unrevoked and running mikfroyo. I didn't lose other stuff on SD card (music files, etc.).

What version of recovery are you using? I know when my brother flashed Mik it moved all of his pictures to one folder but I can't remember the name of that folder.

ROM manager is funny, always install manually. I had multiple issues when using ROM Manager. Try a restore?

I tried a restore, but got stock in a boot loop. Had to flash a different ROM just to get back to a functional phone.

That makes me think there was something amiss with my previous ROM.

UPDATE: Wiped data and Dalvik cache. Flashed Mikfroyo from Recovery (install *.zip option), instead of ROM Manager.

I have a feeling my precious photos are gone. Now nobody will believe me when I tell them I saw Elvis and Bigfoot kill Jimmy Hoffa.

FINAL UPDATE: OK, I had to resort to using a Linux program called photorec to scan my sd card and recover the photos. Of course, it found a ton of jpegs that I will need to sift through, but I think most of the stuff I wanted is there.

Moral to this story: backup, backup, backup...
