Can't find plain English answers for these questions

Hi all.

So I want to upgrade my phone to lollipop using c4tech method. And before I start I need to back up my phone. Please note... My phone is NOT rooted. I am looking for simple answers to the following questions.

1. Backing up apps. If I back up the apps using function which is available on factory reset screen; will it back up all the apps as they are now. Eg. If I've reached a certain level on a game app, will it restore it on the new setup at the same level it was before. If not, how do I go about it?

2. Whatsapp. Will it backup all my conversations? If not. How do I go about it?

3. Text message. Same as point for whatsapp.

4. Documents saved on my phone memory. Same as above.

Is there a simple one stop shop that will do everything?

I have a final question regarding root. I have been holding of rooting my phone because I can't find a straightforward answer for it.

5. Knox. I use Knox for work. I don't like the controls my work has over my phone when I didn't have Knox on the note 2. It restricts certain functions like the patterned lock screen and I also don't like the thought of not having full control over my phone. Knox was a blessing because they could put all the security measures in Knox and I had freedom to use my phone as I pleased. Now I want to know: can I root my phone and still use Knox for my work email in a very simple way? The only reason I would like to root my phone is to get rid of the bloat ware and improve the user experience. But I still want my work email to be in Knox.

Many thanks in advance.

You cannot root, it will permanently disable Knox, and trip the phones Knox counter. Since you and your employer use it, this not a good idea. So unless you want to use a separate phone for work, don't.

Thank you.

Can anyone help me with the first set of questions?

There is a one stop shop for saving a snap shot of your phone to restore as it were the moment you made a snap shot of it, it is called a "Nandroid", and to back up all apps and all their data Titanium Backup, but you'd need to be rooted for both which defeats the object entirely I'm afraid. I thought I'd post again as no one had come up with any answers that I might not know about, but may exist (although I doubt it), and a negative answer is better than no answer. :(

Will Helium Backup work with this model?

It should do EarlyMon, but I last tried it on my Galaxy SIII and it didn't work properly then. It maybe worth a shot for YSNmusk - the opening poster, but I could not say for sure and definitely couldn't recommend "Helium Backup".

Since you posted this question official Lollipop ROMs have become available at Sammobile. See http://androidforums.com/threads/lollipop-is-officially-here.902988/#post-6883067

Here is the info from the download mode on my GN3 after installing the Poland 5.0 ROM from Sammobile above with odin3. As you can see the Knox warranty counter is still ok but this screen doesn't mention the Knox container environment.
