Help Can't find Video Files

I took a video today. It shows up in my Gallery. I can play the video from my phone. It appears to still be in the "Camera" folder.

However, I wanted to transfer the video to my computer. I plugged the phone into my computer, and I can see the files on my phone and on my SD card in my file management system. The problem is that I can't see the .mp4 files that way. I looked at the file details. It says that it's in /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera

In the DCIM folder on my phone, under "Camera," I can see lots of .jpg files, but no video files. No .mp4's. In fact, I can't find the .mp4 files any place when I look through the files on my phone and on my SD card.

I finally was able to see the files with the "MyFiles" app on my phone. Using that app, I copied and pasted the file to another folder. Then, when I plugged the phone into my computer, I could see the file in the new location, and was able to transfer it to my computer. I just can't figure out for the life of me why I can't see the .mp4 files in the list of files in the "Camera" location on the phone. Does anyone know why this is?

Try clearing the cache and defaults on the camera via the app manager. Load the camera again and choose SD as your saving location. Your videos should not be going into a emulated folder. It should be directly in the camera folder inside the DCIM folder inside the SD card.

Once you connect your device on pc with usb, sweep down the screen to view the USB connection options, and just tick the MTP option..... Now you can view all your media files under the DCIM folder !!!!

Thanks for that. I was completely failing to extract mp4 files from my S4 and the memory was filling up. Now I know why.

It is difficult to find the MPT option in settings, other than from the notification.
