Help Can't find working 2.5mm to 3.5mm headset adapter?

Hi -

I have a Plantronics headset with mic that extends from earpiece, which by far is my favorite headset and I use it with my home phone constantly. I'd like to also use it with my S4, but it's plug is a 2.5mm. I've tried probably 1/2 dozen of the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters, and while they all work on my end, the person talking to me can hardly hear me.

Anyone know of tricks around this or an adapter that will work right?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Most adapters have TRS connectors (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) - these only have three contact points
A mic/headphone combo requires TRRS (Tip/Ring/Ring/Sleeve) connector (these have four contact points).

Look for one that specifically states TRRS
