Hey there,
Code:
Samsung Galaxy s GT-I9000 User
Network: Orange Israel
Firmware: 2.2
Build number: FROYO.JHJPA

**I'm running Ubuntu on my computer

I have tried all sorts of methods and apps to flash ROMs all week and I still keep getting the same damn message:
Code:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I have rooted the phone (SU permissions).
It doesn't matter what ROM, .zip file I tried, it errors out on everything.
I have tried:
ROM Manager, clockworkMod, SGS Kernel Flasher, etc.
NOTHING has worked, same message.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Help me, I'm losing my mind.

You need a different kernel. Have a look at Darkys rom over on xda, it's a good guide on how to get 2e recovery so you can flash alternate roms.

You're going to have to do some research. I believe most only require a pc connection for the transfer of files to the sd card but you should read up and understand what you're undertaking first.
