Help Can't flash stock vs980

It seems I have no idea what I'm doing.

First question. Is 24a_11 kdz stock or is 12b_00 for the vs980?

I'm using LG Flash Tool 2014 but part of the way through it displays connetion to server failed
and then an error window pops up titled LGUP_8974 with the text "msmxl2.document create failed"

I'm running it on xp.
I've tried the R&D test tool, but it just opens up the mobile support tool and tells me i'm up to date.

My phone is now stuck in download mode with a partial dl.

I'm familiar with the inside of the lg g2 because I've replaced a screen/digitizer. will disconnecting the battery help at all?

I'm just looking to make this phone usable again. Thanks for any help.

I used the 24A KDZ for mine. Have you tried to TOT method? Can your phone reboot from download mode (long press power button)?

It will turn off and I can reach the reset screen but when I confirm it just boots to download mode.

I have not tried TOT method. I just now found VERIZON ONLY Revert to stock GUIDE [UPDATED] | Verizon LG G2 | XDA Forums

Hardest part I had was actually getting into download mode, but once I did it's quite straight forward. I forget that XDA has a sep. Verizon forum. The guide you linked looks similar. And it's still causing hiccups?

Ill be trying that TOT method tomorrow and I have a question about the drivers.

The drivers I have for my phone are current. Do I need older drivers?
