AFTER a factory reset , the SD card can't be formatted. I start the process to add to internal storage, the 30% progress bar shows up and goes no further. About 2 minutes later the format aborts.
Have you tried removing the SD card and reinserting it? What brand SD card is it? There are a lot of generic cards out there that do not fare very well with the intensive read/write cycles and they fail.
Did you try to format it on your PC? if no luck then your card is fried.
I had a Samsung Note 3 that fried 2 SanDisk 64 gb cards. luckily I was able to send them back to SanDisk for replacement since they have a lifetime warranty. BTW both cards got fried when I would restart the Phone with the card inserted. I think it was a bug between the phone and Android 4.0
I had a similar problem - the SD card could be read but couldn't be written to, erased, or formatted, detailed in another post. You can call SanDisk and get a replacement if you send it back.
