Help cant get 4G

ok i have this inspire 4G and it is unlocked and i replaced the sim card but still i can only get 3G and i know it just inst my area because i have a friend who can get 4G where we live anyone know what my issue could be?

Do you mean you replaced the SIM card with a 4g one? Also make sure your phone is on the latest update, the froyo version doesn't support 4g. You need to be on either one of the GB versions, (new one just rolled out a few days ago, very cool), or a custom ROM that supports it.

BTW: there are two types of '4g', LTE and HSPA+. LTE is faster and most consider it real '4g'. HSPA+, which is what our phone has, is somewhat between 4g LTE and 3g. Your notification should read H+ with a check or up and down arrows beneath it. It won't actually say 4g. This might help

well it does say "H" then an up or down most of the time or even sometimes "E" and then sometimes it says 3G i was just under the assumption i should see a 4G but i dont know much about phones or operating systems.

H is 3g
E is 2g (edge network, basically when you're in the middle of nowhere or if you have bad connectivity, like if you're in the middle of nowhere)
3g is when you're radio is connected to 3g, but it's not doing anything.
