Help Can't get into factory reset menu

I'm looking for the instructions for doing a factory reset on my Evo 4g so I can prep it for sale. I haven't used it in months. Holding the volume down or up doesn't work. What's the trick now?

Also, what's even the value of this? My casing has some cracked plastic and the screen has some green discoloration from being dropped. Is it even worth trying to sell or should I have it recycled?

You can sell a phone like that for parts. (Look on eBay, at how many phones are listed as "for parts only".)

Try menu/settings/sd & phone storage
Scroll to the bottom to Factory Data Reset :)

Edit: I had to boot up my Evo to verify how to do this but if you are looking to get into bootloader (to clear storage) or recovery (to factory reset) try this.

Pull the battery, wait about 10 seconds, the put battery back in.
While holding the volume up button, press and hold the power button.
The next screen that comes up is your bootloader screen.
You will see the blue text "bootloader" highlighted.
Press the power button to select that.
The next screen you will see now has the blue text "fastboot" highlighted.
Use your volume up/down buttons to highlight the word "recovery"
Press power button to select.
The "htc evo4g" white screen will show, then finally a picture of a phone with a red triangle and an exclamation point on it.
Hold the volume up button and press/release power.
The next screen is your stock recovery.
Navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" with your volume up/down buttons.
Press power to select.
Scroll down to "Yes----delete all user data"
Press power to select.
When it's done it will go back to the first screen where you can reboot.

Hope that helps :)
