LG Connect/MS840

Sounds like a personal issue. ;)

If have you tried another battery Or charger? I haven't used a connect in like two years so I don't know how well those hold up.

I'm not bothering with it. Too much money for not enough phone imo. Sgs series phones tend to be equaled by a mid range handset within a year or so.
If I'm spending that kind of money on a phone I would plan on having it for a couple years. But I know me, and in the past five years I've had 11 handsets at last count. I get bored of them within four to six months and find a new one to play with. In the end it costs me about the same to buy 2-3 phones a year as it would to buy one sgs a year.
Most of my old phones all develope their own specialized use for me. One is connected to my tv as a media center, one is used solely to play The Fallout Restoration Project (Fallout 2 modded game), one is preloaded with a full map of south Florida and is used as a GPS unit and music source in my company truck, one is my gig phone loaded with my set lists and tuner app and I switch my number to it when I play so I don't loose my daily driver if I get too wasted, my gf has destroyed two, one is my bedroom media center, two are loaners for the now rare occasion when I come across someone who needs their phone modded but don't have the time or confidence to do it themselves.
The others have been sold or given to friends.

Of course, I'm bat poop crazy so your needs will most likely be different.
Its really up to you to decide. If you know someone who has one ask them to let you mess with it for a short while to see if it fits YOU.
I can however tell you that if you like modding your phone stay FAR FAR away from LG handsets that metro offers. The boot loader is locked tighter than a nuns snatch which means no custom roms without a ton of hoops to jump through and a big ol bag of pure luck in your pocket.
