Help Can't Get Out Of Photo App Once I'm In Without Reboot

Just got my LG Stylo 4 two days ago, loving it.

Problem: Once I'm in the photo app, I cannot get back to the home screen or any other app without rebooting. There isn't any circle at the bottom of the screen to push and go "home." I push the button on the right of the unit and black out the screen, then push the button again, enter my password and...back to photos.

Anyone? Thanks.

Doesn't work. As I said in the above post. There is nothing to push, you can push all you want here and there, left and right at the bottom of the screen. Nothing works but rebooting. I may return this thing. It's really aggravating.

What android version are you on? Android 9 works with gestures, but can be reverted to buttons.
Have you tried another camera app to see if it works?

No, haven't tried another camera app with it, and now it's doing the same thing with Snapchat - won't let me "Get back to where I once belonged."
 
And...now it won't close out of chat, nor Snapchat...have to reboot to get back to home screen.

Also, when you take a photo and want to message it to someone, you get a message, "The photo is too large to send." Why on earth would a company make a phone that takes photos which are too large to text? So you go and send it from the Camera roll and, of course...you can't close out of the Camera app and must reboot the phone.

Also, when you are texting and you hit a wrong letter, when you back up, the App erases the whole word.

No, LG, just one letter, not the whole word.

Wow, I just can't believe I've been buying and using phones for, what, 20 years? This one is the most frustrating.

Thank you, ocnbrze - factory reset worked! As my girlfriend pointed out, I'd bought this new phone after having the other one for 3 years (I dropped it and it shattered and fixing it would cost almost as much as buying a new phone) and transferring all the info off the old phone meant I had a few apps that needed to be updated.

So when I did the factory reset, I answered "Yes" to updating all apps, and now the phone shows me my arrows so I can close out of apps and go "home." Case closed.

Another thing my girlfriend pointed out is that phones for sale at a retail store may have sat there on display and in stock for over a year, meaning that when you activate the phone, you should make sure all apps have the most current version, so don't transfer, say, Instagram and Snapchat as they were - install new versions and sign in.
