Help Can't get past the startup "eye."

I cannot get past the startup "eye." I tried to remove my facebook account, and the phone froze. So i pulled out the battery eventually and now it will not boot up past the glowing eye. Can I recover it without losing everything??

Never-mind, the phone started back up. I "unlocked" it when the eye was showing and tried to push around on the screen and got it to start back up.

Shit, I am addicted to this phone. That made my heart jump a bit.
