While, in the play phase with my new Orange San Francisco, I rooted it, and installed Barnacle wi-fi tether. It worked, but I decided I didn't need it, and uninstalled it.
Some time later, I noticed on my laptop that the phone was still advertising a "Barnacle" SSID. Even in Airplane mode. A waste of battery, I thought, and tried everything I could think of to make sure it was uninstalled.
Eventually, I bit the bullet, sacrificed my data, and did a hard, factory settings reset. It is STILL broadcasting a network SSID.
Any ideas?
