Root can't get root on my VirgMobile Evo V 4g...help?

I HTC-dev unlocked.
Fastboot boot TWRP.img.
I get E: Bad boot message "TIME" on bootup (?)
I flash the su-2.3.6.3.zip, all goes well, no error messages,
but I boot up and no apps that should, request SU.

Want a rooted kernel and non-stock kernel asap!

Have you tried using Root Checker from the app store to verify root? Also unless you're s-off or use 4ext recovery with fastboot enabled you won't be able to flash any kernels to the phone.

had to try a different su.zip file, one on XDA didn't work one here (su-efghi) did.
Just bought 4ext so will try kernels now.

I'm glad that you got that all sorted, while numerous people have no problem flashing kernels with 4ext recovery I would definitely recommend that you s-off when you feel comfortable instead of using a work around. Good luck.

heh yeah been thinking that, I am having problems getting 4ext recovery via fastboot to flash the kernel.zip.
Still reading, perhaps kernel needs to be .img format not .zip to work?
bad kernel zip nvmd. that Jmz clown...
edit nope even with successful flash, no good

s-off here I come...
