Help Can't get Twitter to work right on Ticker Scren

Sorry to make a thread about this, but perhaps others will benefit as well...

I love the phone as you can tell from my review and I enjoy the Ticker Screen very much, but I can't seem to get Twitter to work right.

Before I dive into extensive detail about what has been happening, can some kind soul basically tell me how to set up Twitter right out of the box as if I powered up the phone for the first time?

All I want to know is how to receive Tweets from those that I am following via my Ticker Screen as soon as they are Tweeted, or asap. Whatever. I want them all to scroll through the Ticker.

What are the steps I take right out of the gate to do this?

First, go to menu>accounts &settings and add your twitter account.

Now, go to the Ticker Settings>Social Networking>Twitter and select receive all.

Done...

Now you will get an insane barrage of Tweets every half hour or so....

Do you mean: Menu > Accounts & Sync?

If so, not sure what exactly I need to do specifically in this screen, there are some various options.

Yes, hit "Add Account" and put in your Twitter information

OK, I think I got it. Seems simple right? Heh, not sure why I couldn't figure that out.

So far my sync times are a bit screwy, but like you said in other threads, I hope v2.2 creates some more user tweaks for the feeds.

By the way, do you think adding RSS subscriptions to certain users you are following would allow for quicker feeds?

Only because it seems to sync RSS and Social at different intervals... Personally, I just use Tweetdeck for Twitter alerts, doesn't use the Ticker, but you can set the interval that it updates.
