Help Can't get youtube links in facebook app to open in the youtube app

So as the title states, I can't get youtube links in facebook app to open in the youtube app. When I click on the link it just takes me to the youtube page instead of launching in the youtube app.

I have isolated the problem to be the facebook app (or so I think). I uninstalled all the updates for the facebook app and now when I click on a youtube link it opens in the youtube app. Once I update facebook to the lasted update it once again takes me to the youtube page when clicking on a link instead of opening in the app.

I have tried clearing defaults, cache and date in both FB and YT but it doesnt seem to do anything.

Anyone else have this problem?

Update:

Using the latest FB update, I figured out that if I clear data for the FB app in setting> applications>manage appliations, the links will launch using the YT app again but only for a few minutes. If I leave the FB app and come back in the links once again dont launch the YT app but instead take me to the YT page.

I have noticed that if I leave the FB app to do something else, and then come back, I will get a connection error and no updates or anything will show up. If I kill FB with a task killer, and then open it up again, everything is fine. Everyone says task killers suck, but hey, it's the only way I can get back into my FB without it not working...

I had this problem and it's now 5 years later... Google didn't give the answer and directed me here that still didn't give the answer.... Here's the answer... . open Facebook app settings and turn the "links to open externally" switch to on! Job done.
